The first of the 2014 UPSAC-IGFA Youth Fishing Derbies was held on June 21, 2014 at the Berkeley Pier. The day saw nice weather but a fairly small turnout and slow fishing. Nevertheless, judging by the huge smiles and the enthusiasm of the participants, the kids seemed to have had a great time! There was the chance to use the free tackle and bait to catch a fish, a free lunch, and the chance to win some nice prizes in either the raffle or the age group contest.
The derby was sponsored by United Pier and Shore Anglers of California (UPSAC) and the International Game Fish Association (IGFA)
