Hermosa Beach Pier — 2008 UPSAC Youth Angling Class

UPSAC Volunteers and members of the class

In 2008 a team of UPSAC members under the direction of Hashem Nahid hosted a group of inner city youth from Los Angeles. One goal for the day was to teach the youth how to fish, especially since many had never fished before in their life. A second goal was to teach them how to “ethically fish.” The third goal was to have fun. From the feedback provided, all three goals seemed to have been met.
