Many, many years ago while visiting the bait shop at the Venice Pier (Los Angeles), I was given a set of pictures showing some of the fish taken at the pier during the warm water years in the ’80s. Some interesting fish highlighted by the only picture of an albacore that I have seen taken a a California pier.
Unfortunately the pictures are not great quality but it is what it is.
Triggerfish (probably a finescale triggerfish) taken at the pier
A young giant (black) sea bass
A nice catch of yellowtail and bonito at the pier (although it looks over the limit)
